The American Apparel 2001W is made from 100% combed ring-spun cotton, which gives it a noticeably smoother, softer hand feel compared to standard cotton tees. At 146gsm, it’s on the lighter side — the fabric drapes cleanly and sits close to the body without clinging, lending it a more fitted, retail-quality silhouette. The fine jersey knit has a smooth face with minimal texture, which makes it a strong base for screen printing and DTG prints where detail matters.
The 7/8″ seam collar sits snug without feeling tight, and shoulder-to-shoulder taping reinforces the neckline so it keeps its shape wash after wash. Double-needle stitching on the sleeves and hem adds durability at the stress points. A double-satin razor label inside gives it a clean, brand-level finish rather than the bulky woven tags found on most blank tees.
